Before starting my journey with The Swole Kitchen, I never thought it was possible to truly focus on the nutrition aspect of getting healthy. It felt like an insurmountable mental block, especially after gaining a significant amount of weight post-college. I didn’t know how to get myself back on track and needed something that would work with my hectic lifestyle.
I chose The Swole Kitchen because, from the very beginning, I felt truly listened to and empowered. For the first time, I believed I could tackle everything that was holding me back. The coaching format and accessibility were exactly what I needed.
Throughout my coaching experience, I lost a significant amount of weight, regained my confidence, and developed habits that I can continue in my day-to-day life. I learned to enjoy food without the constant fear of weight gain, fell back in love with running, and discovered new ways to stay active.
One of the most surprising things I learned was just how much food I could eat in a day without feeling hungry, all while keeping my energy levels high. Even when I encountered bumps in the road or when the scale wasn’t moving, my body composition was changing, and that was still a huge win. I realized that progress isn't just about the number on the scale—it's about how you feel and how your body transforms.
My biggest obstacle was managing my crazy schedule. Being in the military, with long training sessions and limited access to certain resources, I had to stay mentally strong and not take the easy way out. Through this process, I learned to love myself again and realized that my body is stronger than I ever thought possible.
My coach, Jocelyn, had a profound impact on my journey. She was always supportive, available, and her attention to detail made it easy for me to be honest with myself about what I needed to succeed. Jocelyn helped me rethink my “failures” and motivated me each time I reached a goal.
Now that my coaching program is over, I’m in such a better place. I’m more confident and know that I can continue making positive changes in my lifestyle. The Swole Kitchen gave me the tools to be successful. I’ve rediscovered my passion for running, and I’m embracing my love for food without the guilt. I now understand that nutrition is crucial, but it’s not what I originally perceived it to be.
Jocelyn was an amazing coach—perfect for my lifestyle and personality. She gave me the space to breathe and adjust, and was always there when I needed her. Her thoughtful approach to recipes kept things interesting, and her tips for exercise were incredibly helpful.
